DRG's classes synergize so well mostly because of their mobility tools and the way they are designed. You wanna grapple to a vein of Morkite on the ceiling as Scout? Ain't getting nowhere to land without an Engi's platform. Molly taking an extremely unfollowable path to the drop pod? Driller's got you covered. But how can the Driller manage to get across a gap? Gunner has ziplines, for him, for Drillers, and for everyone. Engineer can also build bridges with the platforms to get across, but this takes a lot longer, and the Gunner can put up a zipline instantly. Oh, got nowhere to jump off the zipline? You guessed it: platform. In summary: Driller and Scout have very powerful mobility options that fail in certain situations, and thus need help from the more mediocre but versatile options of the Engi and Gunner. Additionally, Driller provides huge value on getting the whole team from cave to cave without backtracking. Scout might seem like the odd one out, but keep in mind that he already does light and collecting most resources, two already vital team roles. It's all designed in a way that works just okay when you're going solo, but absolutely thrives when you colaborate with the team. This means that there's no point on being a grumpy lone wolf, because while you might be able to get somewhere by yourself, a team is able to get there way more efficiently. Holy SHIT that's a long comment. God damn. I think I like this game's mechanics a little too much.

Just having "call of duty but it's free and doesn't take up 300gb" is enough of a selling point, imo. Yeah good graphics are cool, but I don't think anyone can really argue that XD looks *bad*, just average, and that's fine. I'd much rather have shorter loading times and be able to actually use my hard drive space than have 1 game that lets me see my operator's pores. And cutting down on the number of guns and equipment has made it much easier to pick up a gun and know what to expect. I don't have to worry about how one AR out of 15 has marginally faster ttk, or whether to bring thermite over molotovs over frags. I loved the CoD MW reboot trilogy for what it was, but if I just want to hop in and quickly play mp, I can't do that. With a huge clunky game that has to update 3 times per week and a learning curve to nearly every aspect of the experience. Want to reinstall to play a few hours on the weekend? Better set aside 3 hours to download. CoD still feels fun to me, but it definitely feels like they've gone far away from the arcade-y run and gun casual shooter. XD making that same experience more streamlined and accessible seems like one of the few good ideas that Ubi has had in the last decade. BUT it's also Ubi, and I'm sure they'll find a way to fumble.

Ubi needs to give me back Heroes of Might and Magic and EA needs to give me Command and Conquer
